We're happy to welcome our friends from MyCorporation to our blog.  These folks are EXPERTS who have offered to provide our readers some excellent information about business formation and beyond!  While some may consider this "factoring help", this information is broadly applicable for all entrepreneurs.

MyCorporation

Our job at MyCorporation is to properly welcome small businesses into the legitimate world of business. We have been in the industry for 10 years, acting as a document filing service for business owners who wish to form a corporation or limited liability company. Along with helping out clients incorporate, we offer trademark searches/applications, copyright registrations, DBA registrations, and registered agent services.

Given our background on the subject, we’d like to offer our suggestion of the first steps to take once you have decided to from your own business:

Incorporate. So congratulations! You’ve made the conscious decision to break away from your desk job and become your own boss. What will an ‘Inc.’ or ‘LLC’ at the end of your business card do for your business? Well, not only will it give your business an air of legitimacy showing that you play in the big leagues, but it will also save you a ton come time for tax season to roll around. Do yourself, your business’ reputation, and your wallet a favor by incorporating.

Trademark. Establish a name and logo that completely sum up your business. The best ones are those that may be quickly glanced at but are still unique enough to stand out and clear enough to easily distinguish what it is your business does. Once you know what it is you want, file a trademark application to register it with the United States Patent and Trademark Office with the help of a document filing service like yours truly. Having your name and logo protected by a trademark prevents others from using your brand, helps customers easily identify your goods and services in the marketplace, and will increase in value as your business grows.

Free marketing. Impossible you say? Nay! As soon as you have yourself established as a business it’s time to put yourself and your brand out there. The best way to do this is with social media. You can have a Facebook fan page, Twitter handler, and blog all for free. Utilizing all three of these tools will not only make it clear to your potential clients what it is you do, but it will build a team of supporters.  By providing those who browse your pages with interesting articles to read, videos to watch, and questions to answer and discuss amongst themselves you are creating a community. You are also providing a direct outlet for your customer to ask you questions that they wouldn’t normally have the access to have you not been present online. The biggest thing social media does is create a unique personality for your business separating you from your competitors.

Follow these steps when deciding to start your own business and you’ll be on the right track.  Experience any money troubles along the way? Look into invoice factoring from Fast A/R Funding as a factoring company to help stabilize your cash flow or access capital for growth.
